Do you have prices for your buildings on your website?
Derksen offers the industry’s best value by selling high quality structures at the lowest possible prices. Pricing varies by region and /or state because of regulations, hauling restrictions, shipping costs and associated material costs. Contact your local dealer for details on pricing in your area.
Are all of your buildings available for Rent-to-Own?
All of the standard buildings are available for rent-to-own. Special orders may require a cash purchase. If the customer intends to alter the building with construction or painting it will need to be a cash purchase.
Do I need good credit?
At Derksen, we offer our customers the option to buy or rent to own with NO CREDIT CHECK!
How do I make my Rent To Own payments?
If you choose our Rent to Own option, all payments should be made to your assigned rental company in accordance with your contract / Rent to Own agreement. If you have misplaced this information, call 888-623-9829.
How much will my downpayment be?
Downpayments may vary from region to region. Ask your local dealer for details. In most cases, buildings wider than 12 ft. will require addtional downpayment fees due to wide load hauling restrictions and escort service requirements.
When will I get my new building?
A building purchased from a dealer (in stock on the dealer’s lot) will take 7-10 days to deliver. If the building purchased has to be manufactured it will be 14-21 days. Weather conditions and the demand of the season can alter delivery times.
Is delivery included in the price?
When you buy or rent to own a building from Derksen, we will deliver your building for FREE within 50 miles of your local dealer. Initial set up of building is also included.
Does the building need to sit on gravel or concrete?
The only requirement is a level location. Our buildings are designed to rest directly on their skids. In order to level the building we use treated wood blocks. If you would like to have your building on concrete blocks, we only require that you provide the blocks. For specifics on number of blocks needed for your particular building, ask your local dealer.
What if my new building will not fit through my gate or around my fence?
Deksen requires that your site be ready for delivery, and is not responsible for making any alterations to fences or other barriers. If you have questions about your site, contact your local dealer.
How much space should be allowed to deliver a building?
A vertical space of 14′, measured from the ground to the top of the building when it is on the trailer, is required. Be sure to take any tree branches and utility wires into account. The driver will still need a minimum of 2′ of space to maneuver the truck. That is, a building 12′ wide will require a 14 foot wide space. Please take tight turns into account when considering a location.
In what sizes are your buildings available?
We can build any size building between 8×12 and 16×32 as long as it is in increments of 2′. Therefore, sizes falling within that range that are not listed on your dealer’s price list can be custom built. Hauling restrictions may apply on larger sizesin some states and/or regions. Therefore, 14′ and 16′ wide buildings are not available in all areas. Check with your local dealer for details.
Why is my 12′ wide building only about 11’6″ wall to wall?
We are limited by hauling regulations as to how wide a building we can deliver. The current regulation is 12′. For this reason, 12- wide buildings are measured from eave to eave. Our 8′ and 10′ wide buildings are measured from wall to wall.
What kinds of maintenance will be required on my building?
You should enjoy many years of maintenance free storage.
How can I re-stain my treated building?
Your Derksen building treated siding can be stained or touched up with Pittsburg Paints HONEY GOLD stain, available at www.shedsupply.com
Do I need to have permits or other paperwork?
You are responsible for contacting your local city and county agencies in regard to zoning, permits, setbacks, and covenants. Also, it is recommended that you contact your Home Owners Association (if applicable) to determine what neighborhood rules and regulations may be apply.
What is the warranty on a building?
We guarantee our buildings to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of five years. All exposed pressure treated wood has a lifetime limited manufacturer warranty against termites and fungal decay. Painted treated siding has a LP SmartSide® 50-year warranty against decay, termites and delamination. Metal siding also carries a manufacturer’s warranty against defects.

Does a Metal Roof cost more than a Shingle Roof?
At Derksen, we offer a high quality 30-year structural shingle or a 30-year metal roof at the same cost. It’s your choice!
Can I choose where to place windows and doors in my new building?
Derksen buildings are fully customizable to suit your needs. We offer many great options, so you’re sure to get YOUR building… YOUR way! Some restrictions may apply. Contact your local dealer with questions.
How big are the doors in my new building?
On buildings that are 8 Ft. wide, Derksen includes a single door, with an opening of approximately 46″. On buildings that are 10 Ft. wide or wider, Derksen includes Double doors, with an opening of approximately 72″. We offer roll-up garage doors at 6′ and 9′ widths. We also offer custom 36″ doors and 72″ french doors. See our buying guide or ask your dealer for details.
